Timer.Coffee 3.7.3 and 3.7.4 release notes

by Anton from Timer.Coffee

Two people with different skin tones hold a coffee bag together across a table with pour-over equipment and coffee beans.

3.7.3 and 3.7.4 make it easier to create dependable recipes, keep useful context around your brews, and help grow the roaster directory using the coffee already in your cupboard.

TL;DR

  • Recipe creation: clearer handling of ambiguous quantities, optional descriptions, and more reliable editing and copying.
  • Roaster directory: share information about a missing roaster directly from your beans.
  • Notifications: more useful reminders for bean reviews and missing roasters.
  • Recipe summaries: preparation instructions now appear before the timed steps.

Recipe creation that gets out of your way

When you create a recipe, Timer.Coffee is now more careful with quantities it cannot confidently identify as coffee or water. Instead of making a guess, the app shows you the exact amount that needs attention. You can edit the step or save it as written, in which case the amount stays fixed rather than scaling with your servings.

Short descriptions are now optional, and editing a recipe’s base coffee or water amount properly clears any old custom brew-size override. Copies and imports also retain their original attribution, so shared recipes keep their history as they move between people.

Help add missing roasters

When a roaster attached to one of your bags is not yet in the Timer.Coffee directory, you may now see an invitation to help add it. Share the roaster’s website, with optional Instagram and city details, and your suggestion can be verified and added more quickly.

Notifications with better timing

Bean review reminders now better reflect what is happening in your coffee collection. They can recognize when you finish a bag, include the bean and roaster names, and keep reminders for several beans from replacing one another. If a roaster is missing, a reminder can also take you straight back to the contribution form. Completed or dismissed requests no longer keep asking for your attention.

Preparation in recipe summaries

Your recipe summary now begins with the preparation instruction before the timed brewing steps, so the complete workflow is visible in one place.
