Getting started with your roaster page

A short tour of the roaster admin: signing in, filling in your page, publishing recipes and replies, and letting your AI assistant do the work for you.

Signing in

Go to /roaster-admin/, enter your email, and click Send passcode. A 6-digit one-time passcode is emailed to you — type it in and you're signed in. You don't need a password.

Always use the email address your roaster access was set up for (the one Timer.Coffee linked to your roaster page). A different address won't work: the page says "This email hasn't been onboarded yet" and asks you to email support@timer.coffee.

Didn't get the code? Click Resend passcode — the button changes to that after the first send — and check your spam folder.

Signed in with an address that isn't linked to a roaster page? The page says "No roaster page is assigned to this account" and offers Sign out. Sign out is also in the dashboard header.

Page details
Your description, location and links for the public roaster page.

The card holds these fields: Slug, Description, Website, City, State / region, Country, Address, Instagram URL, X / Twitter URL, Facebook URL, and TikTok URL.

Website and social fields must be full URLs including https:// (for example https://instagram.com/yourroaster). Invalid URLs show "Enter a valid URL". The description can be up to 3,000 characters.

Links are checked when you save. Your website and any links in the description need the full https:// address on a domain name: short links (like bit.ly) and IP addresses aren't accepted. Social links must point to their own site (x.com or twitter.com, facebook.com, tiktok.com). Links on lists of known malware and phishing sites are refused.

Saved links are also re-checked every day. If one is later flagged as unsafe by Google Web Risk, we remove it from your public page (a flagged website is cleared; a flagged link in your description hides the whole description) and the dashboard shows A link on your page was hidden with the link and the reason. Save your page details with a different link, or without it, to restore your page. Until you do, connected apps can't propose a new website or description. If you think it was flagged by mistake, email support@timer.coffee.

Click Save page details to publish your changes to the public page. Reset changes discards unsaved edits.

In the dashboard header, Open public page opens your public roaster page in a new tab, and Refresh reloads the dashboard.

Your public URL (slug)
The slug is the last part of your public URL: /roasters/<slug>/ — for example https://www.timer.coffee/roasters/your-roaster-name/.

Some pages start with a numeric slug such as 2894. Change it to something readable like your-roaster-name. Slugs use lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only, and must be 2–80 characters long.

The slug field shows "Public URL after save" as you type. The new address goes live when you click Save page details. If you change your slug, update any links you've already shared.

Recipes
Recipes stay private until you publish them on your roaster page.
  1. Click New recipe with AI and paste a recipe, a video transcript, or your own notes — doses, water temperature, grind, and timings give the best result. Optionally pick the brewing method, then click Create recipe.
  2. The AI recipe maker is in beta: the first time, tick the agreement to the beta terms before Create recipe is enabled.
  3. Review and fine-tune the draft the AI produced.
  4. Finish with Save as private (only you can see it) or Save and publish.

Prefer typing it in yourself? Start from scratch creates a recipe without sending anything to the AI.

Each recipe in the list has a Public / Private switch to publish or unpublish it. Publishing can take a few minutes to show up on your public page; unpublishing makes the recipe private again and hides it from the page.

Edit opens the recipe. Changes to a public recipe are checked for content before they go live again. Delete asks for confirmation. Deleted recipes are removed from the list and your public page, also disappear from the Timer.Coffee app on your devices after the next sync, and can't be undone.

Recipes marked Imported can't be published on your roaster page.

Replying to reviews
Reviews in the Review inbox are written by Timer.Coffee users about your beans — specific coffees — not about the roastery itself.

Each review shows the bean it's about. Type your answer in the Reply box and click Publish reply. Your reply appears publicly under the review as "Roaster Response".

Use Edit reply and then Update reply to change a published reply. Delete reply removes it from the public page.

When the inbox holds many reviews, Show more loads the rest.

Use your AI assistant
Let Claude or ChatGPT set up your page, draft review replies and write recipes for you. Nothing goes live until you approve it.

You don't have to spend time building your page yourself: connect Timer.Coffee to the AI assistant you already use and ask it to do the work. It takes about two minutes, and you only need your roaster email. The Use your AI assistant card on your dashboard has the same steps, with copy buttons.

With Claude

Works in Claude on the web and in the desktop app, including Cowork.

  1. Open Timer.Coffee in Claude's directory

    Then click Connect to Claude.

  2. A Timer.Coffee window opens. Sign in with the email your roaster access was set up for and click Allow.

  3. Start a new chat (or a Cowork task) and send one of the messages below.

With ChatGPT

  1. In ChatGPT on the web, open Plugins, click Add and choose Add custom MCP server.

    On Business, Enterprise and Edu plans, your workspace admin may need to allow it first. Menu names can differ slightly between plans.

  2. Name it Timer.Coffee for Roasters, paste this address under Connection and choose OAuth authentication:

    https://www.timer.coffee/api/mcp/
  3. Open Advanced OAuth settings and untick OIDC enabled. Then tick I understand and want to continue, click Create as a plugin and then Connect Timer.Coffee for Roasters.

    With OIDC enabled, ChatGPT can't finish signing in to Timer.Coffee. If ChatGPT says the name is taken, remove the Timer.Coffee plugin you added before.

  4. A Timer.Coffee window opens. Sign in with the email your roaster access was set up for and click Allow.

  5. In a new chat, add Timer.Coffee for Roasters from the + menu and send one of the messages below.

What it can and can't do

It can

  • Read your dashboard, reviews and recipes
  • Draft review replies for you to approve
  • Suggest changes to your page details for you to approve
  • Create, edit and delete private recipes

It can't

  • Publish or remove review replies
  • Publish recipes or change published ones
  • Change your page address
  • Change your logo
  • Use Timer.Coffee admin tools

Replies your assistant writes are saved as drafts, not published. They come first in your Review inbox, marked Suggested by a connected app, with the text ready in the reply box. Edit it if you like, then click Approve & publish, or Discard it.

Changes it suggests to your page details are saved as a proposal. It appears as Proposed changes at the top of the Page details card, with each field's current and proposed value. Click Approve changes to put them on your public page, or Discard them. Links and the description are checked again when you approve. Agents can't change your page address or your logo.

Recipes it creates stay private until you publish them yourself with the Public / Private switch.

Disconnecting an app

On your dashboard, go to Use your AI assistant and find Connected apps, which lists every app you've allowed. Click Disconnect next to one and confirm. It takes effect immediately: the app loses access to your roaster page. Replies it drafted and page changes it suggested stay in your dashboard. To use it again, connect it again.

For developers

Timer.Coffee runs a remote MCP server (Streamable HTTP) with OAuth sign-in. Any app that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth can connect with this address. Keep the slash at the end.

https://www.timer.coffee/api/mcp/

Claude Code: run this in your terminal.

claude mcp add --transport http timer-coffee-roasters https://www.timer.coffee/api/mcp/

Cursor and other apps set up with JSON: add this to the app's MCP configuration.

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "timer-coffee-roasters": {
      "url": "https://www.timer.coffee/api/mcp/"
    }
  }
}

VS Code: its mcp.json uses servers instead of mcpServers.

{
  "servers": {
    "timer-coffee-roasters": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://www.timer.coffee/api/mcp/"
    }
  }
}
