The AeroPress is a compact, manual brewer that combines full-immersion steeping with gentle air pressure to push water through a bed of coffee and a paper or metal filter. This hybrid method delivers a clean, sweet cup with low bitterness and minimal sediment in about 1–2 minutes. It’s highly versatile: use the standard or inverted method, tweak grind (usually medium-fine), water temperature, steep time, and press speed to dial in anything from a bright filter-style brew to a richer, espresso-style concentrate you can dilute as an Americano or pour over ice. Lightweight, durable, and easy to clean, the AeroPress is a favorite for home, office, and travel.

History of Aeropress

Invented in 2005 by engineer Alan Adler (of Aerobie flying ring fame), the AeroPress set out to make a single, high-quality cup quickly and consistently. Baristas and home brewers embraced its simplicity and flexibility, spawning a global culture of experimentation—most visibly the World AeroPress Championship (since 2008), where new recipes and techniques spread each year. Its design has since expanded with portable variants, but the core promise remains: excellent coffee, anywhere.
